MILDRED LEONE GERLACH, age 77, of Waseca passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2024 at Colony Court Senior Living.
Born on March 8, 1946 in Long Prairie, Mildred was the daughter of Raymond and Myra (Gatz) Gerlach. She went throughout her life being known as “Mildie” to her family and “Millie” to her friends. She graduated from Waseca Central High School with the class of 1964. Following her education, Mildred held many accounting and administrative positions through various industries until she retired from Winegars.
In her free time, Mildred spent a lot of time volunteering. She enjoyed being involved in the community and was an election judge for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca where she was very active. She was the church secretary and taught confirmation classes to help guide the younger generations in the church. She loved her Ford Ranger that she always kept pristine, and adored her fur babies that were her entire world. She was an avid Twins fan, and would always let folks know that she would not be answering her phone while the game was on.
A special thank you to Rhonda and Harold Christenson for their care and friendship throughout the years.
Mildred is survived by her aunt, Arlene Gerlach of New Hope; many Gerlach and Gatz cousins and their families and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Myra Gerlach, and her fur babies, Lovey, Chauncy, Freddie, Clementine, Henry, and TC (The Cat).
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
