Michelle Lynn Ewest

MICHELLE LYNN EWEST, age 51, of Waseca passed away after a battle with ALS on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.

Born on April 12, 1971 in Estherville, IA, to Ronald and Vickie (Dalen) Thornburg. Michelle received her education from Owatonna Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1989. On April 27, 1996, she was united in marriage to Bill Ewest at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Together they settled in Waseca to raise their two children, Sydney and Mason.

Michelle began her career working at US West as a telephone operator. She worked there before starting her job at American Family Insurance in 2002. She had worked there for 15 years. Michelle had recently been working at Mid-State Mutual Insurance until she stepped away to spend time with her family and friends. In her free time, Michelle enjoyed baking, cleaning, and going on walks, and taking care of her family. She cherished every minute spent with her husband and kids. She will be dearly missed.

Michelle is survived by her husband of 26 years, Bill Ewest; children, Sydney and Mason Ewest (Rachael Roberts); parents, Ronald and Vickie Thornburg; siblings, Lisa (Todd) Henry, Ronnie Thornburg; grandmother, Ethel Boyer; and many other relatives. She is preceded in death by her grandparents.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2022, at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Memorial Service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Jillene Gallatin officiating. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
