MICHAEL ROBERT FLITSCH, age 59 of Waterville, died peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato.
Born in Prairie du Chien, WI, on February 14, 1957, Michael was the son of Earl and Kathleen (Wachter) Flitsch.  He graduated from Waseca High School in 1975 and continued his education at the University of Minnesota.  After remaining in the Twin Cities for a few years, Mike returned to Waseca where he spent just over 22 years working as a sales representative for MPeters Enterprises.  Mike loved the outdoors and spent much of his time camping, fishing, hunting, and backpacking.  He was also an avid reader who loved to study history and he enjoyed watching sports – especially the Minnesota Gophers, the Green Bay Packers, and "his" New York Yankees.
Mike is survived by his mother, Kathleen Flitsch of Waseca; four brothers, Ron (Bonnie) Flitsch of Pine Island, Tom (Katri) Flitsch of Bottmingen, Switzerland, Jim (Barb) Flitsch of New Prague, and Tim (Marni) Flitsch of Lakeville; seven nieces and nephews; and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his father; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30PM on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.  Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Waterville Fire and Rescue, or to a recipient of the donors choice.  dennisfuneralhomes.com
