Michael Mulcahy December 14, 1971 - June 28, 2012

Michael "Mike" Mulcahy, age 40, of Robbinsdale and formerly of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at his family''s home in Faribault following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Dr.) in Faribault, with the Rev. Erik Lundgren, Rev. Michael Creagan and Rev. Bryan Pedersen, concelebrating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. The family prefers that memorials be directed to an education fund that will be established for Mike and Melissa''s children Jack and Hilaire. Michael Vincent Mulcahy, the son of Dr. James and Barbara (Langer) Mulcahy, was born on December 14, 1971 in Faribault. Mike attended Bethlehem Academy and graduated with the class of 1990. Following high school, he continued his education with two years at Faribault Vocational School and also two years at Normandale Community College. On September 15, 2001, Mike was united in marriage to Melissa Knutson at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Mike began working as a salesman at Steffen''s Auto in Faribault in 1994. In March of 2000, Mike relocated and began working as the parish administrator at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale. Mike dedicated countless hours to many committees he felt important to him including, Bethlehem Academy School Board, all committees at Sacred Heart and also truly had a passion for moving forward with the building project at Sacred Heart. Mike enjoyed spending time with his children and family and loved them all dearly. He loved to travel and tried to travel each year to see all of his siblings. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 889 in Faribault and the Association of Parish Business Administrator''s Group in Minneapolis. He is survived by his wife, Melissa of Robbinsdale; his two children, Jack and Hilaire both at home; his mother, Barbara Mulcahy of Faribault; his ten siblings, Laura Mulcahy-Deaux of Anchorage, AK, Tom Mulcahy of Anchorage, AK, Dr. Kathryn Hopwood of Wichita, KS, Tim (Kerrie) Mulcahy of Faribault, Susan Mulcahy of Scottsdale, AZ, Mark (Lynn) Mulcahy of Faribault, Shelia (Jim) Craig of Healy, AK, Mary (Dave) Skluzacek of Faribault, Lisa (Joe) Trnka of Lonsdale and John (Lou) Mulcahy of St. Paul, MN; by his father and mother in law, Doug
