Michael Milbrath December 14, 1954 - October 24, 2009

Michael L. Milbrath, age 54 of Waseca, died on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph''s Mayo Health System in Mankato. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Terry L. Quick officiating. Interment will be in the Woodville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. Paul Lutheran Church, or the Waseca Medical Center. Michael was born on December 14, 1954 in Lakefield, Minnesota to Les and Mildred (Balster) Milbrath. He graduated from Lakefield High School in 1973. Mike was united in marriage to Cheryl Christopherson on June 19, 1976. Mike attended Southwest State University where he earned his Bachelor''s Degree in Health Care Administration. He went on to earn his Master''s Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Minnesota. Mike worked for various health care facilities before taking his position of Executive Vice President of the Waseca Medical Center-Mayo Health System in 1995. Mike was very active in his church, where he currently served as head elder. He also was a leader in the Waseca community. He enjoyed baseball, his beloved Twins, collecting baseball cards, and gardening. Mike loved the time he spent with his family. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, and his daughters Kate (Jason) Kupcho of Blaine, Abby (Matt) Gibson of Waseca, and Shelby Milbrath currently a student at the U of M; by his parents Les and Mildred Milbrath of Red Wing; by his brother Tom Milbrath of Red Wing by his mother-in-law Mary Jo Christopherson of Lakefield, and by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bob Christopherson of Windom, Paul Christopher of Lakefield, Karen (Brian) Ewertz of Strasburg, CO, and Maria Cone of Rosemount; by his nieces and nephews Jon, Sara, Grace, Jason, and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his father-in-law, Robert Christopherson. Casketbearers are: John DeZeeuw, Bob Christopherson Jr., Paul Christopherson, Richard Grein, Dr. Jim Dey, and Brian Ewertz.
