Michael John Patterson

MICHAEL JOHN PATTERSON, age 50 of Waseca, died at his home on the morning of Monday, March 20, 2023.

Mike was born in New Prague on June 3, 1972 to parents John and Violet (Fink) Patterson. He grew up on a hobby farm where his father ran a family business, and he attended school in New Prague. He married Wendy Getting and together they had two children before their divorce in the early 2000’s. On February 14, 2003 he was married to Brenda Wolf. Together they raised their family in Owatonna and Waseca. Mike worked at the Alcorn Ethanol Plant in Claremont. He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna, and he enjoyed playing “World of Warcraft” and spoiling his three dogs. More than anything, though, he loved spending time with his family and three grandkids.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Brenda Patterson of Waseca; three children Courtney (Derek VonBank) Wolf of Waseca, Tammy (Derek) Knotts of TN, and Kevin Patterson of Jordan; three grandchildren, Tyler Wolf, Brayden Wolf, and Ava VonBank; three siblings, Jennifer (Michael) Cohen of PA, Sherri Patterson of IL, and Teresa Patterson of Montgomery; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and both of his parents.

Visitation for Mike will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca, and will continue for one hour before the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
