Mervin 'Pete' Beaupre October 31, 1919 - April 3, 2013

Mervin "Pete" Beaupre, age 93, of Faribault, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault. Interment will be held at the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Mervin David, the son of Filbert and Angeline (Thonet) Beaupre, was born on October 31, 1919 in Faribault. He attended the Faribault High School and also Dunwoody Institute''s electrical program. Pete joined the United States Navy and was later honorably discharged after eight years of service. On September 29, 1956, Pete was united in marriage to Gertrude "Gert" Spillmann in Ft. Worth, Texas. She later preceded him in death on September 3, 2011.

After schooling at Dunwoody, Pete began working at Foss Electric in Faribault. He later traveled out east to work on many large projects before returning back to Faribault and starting Beaupre Electric. He enjoyed the opportunity to help many family and friends with electrical needs over the years. Pete was a member of the VFW Post 1562, American Legion Post 43 and First English Lutheran Church.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gert, two sisters, Evelyn Langeslag and Yvonne Campbell and by three brothers, George, Clem and Phil Beaupre.
