MEGAN BAILEY LYNCH, of Waseca passed away on May 2, 2024, in Mankato at the age of 40.
Megan was born on April 23, 1984, in Northfield to Kevin and Stephanie (Bailey) Cunningham. She grew up in Waseca and began her education at Sacred Heart Catholic School through 4th grade before attending Waseca Public School and graduated from Alexandria High School. Megan continued her education at St. Cloud State University before transferring to Minnesota State University in Mankato where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing. On October 20, 2007, Megan was united in marriage to Joshua Lynch at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Together they shared two sons and were later divorced.
Her first job following her education was an internship with First National Bank in Waseca where she continued to work and later became their Marketing Officer. Megan's career with First National Bank helped her grow and give back to her community, which she did with grace and gratitude. She served as a member of Waseca Exchange Club, Waseca Rotary Club, Waseca Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, President of Waseca Lakeside Club, Sacred Heart School Board, Discover Waseca Tourism Board, Waseca Area United Way and Southern Minnesota Irish American Club. Because of her dedication to the Waseca Community she was awarded the Young Professional Distinguished Service Award in 2017. Megan enjoyed golfing, listening to music, catching up on her tv shows, shopping, food, and always had time for a coffee and Coca-Cola. She will be remembered for the devotion she showed to her family and friends, her sassy personality, but most importantly the caring love she shared with her family and friends.
Megan is survived by her sons, Cash and Cruz Lynch of Waseca; mother, Stephanie (Ron) Rollenhagen of Waseca; father, Kevin (Connie Lee) Cunningham of Alexandria; siblings: Michael (Robyn) Cunningham of Waseca, and Molly (Nick) Ulschmid of Waseca; nieces and nephews, Regan Cunningham, Brayden Hesch-Priem, Jace and Bailey Ulschmid, Camryn, Haydn, Amilya, Kennedy, Mya, Sophia, and Harper Lynch; former husband, Josh Lynch of Waseca; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Shirlee and Don Bailey, Judy and Jim Cunningham; brother-in-law, Billy Hesch-Priem.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, followed by a parish prayer service, on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral Home in Waseca. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Glenn Frerichs as Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Catholic School or the local nonprofit organization of your choice.
