MAYNARD OMAR RAUCHMAN, age 82 of Janesville, died peacefully at Monarch Meadows in Mankato on Sunday, November 14, 2021.
Born in Faribault on February 28, 1939, Maynard was the son of Richard and Violet (Krause) Rauchman. He attended school near Faribault before later graduating from Mankato High School. On October 19, 1957 Maynard married Sandy Jean Lundgren at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato. He worked for many years at the Mankato Foundry before his retirement. Maynard was a fun, goofy guy who loved to sing, go fishing, go to Culver’s for milkshakes, and could “disappear” a pan of his wife’s brownies in less than a day. He enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings as well as all Janesville High School sports. In the past he coached softball, was a member of the Janesville Jaycees, the Janesville Saddle Club, and the local bowling league. He could often be found on his mower or working in the yard. More than anything, though, Maynard loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Maynard is survived by his wife, Sandy of Janesville and Mankato; two children, Darrell (Diane) Rauchman of Mankato, and Vicki (Grant) Davis of Mankato; five grandchildren, Tom Rauchman, Dan Rauchman, Cody Rauchman, Samantha Gruis, and Amanda Gruis; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard Rauchman; and one son, Steven Rauchman.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services, and will continue on Friday for one hour before the service at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Janesville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kathy King officiating.
