Mavis Irene Miller

Mavis Irene Miller, age 69 of Waterville, died on Friday, November 20, 2020 at her residence in Waterville.

Born on April 15, 1951, in Cresco, IA, she was the daughter of Thomas and Doris (Hanson) Cummings. She graduated from Riceville High School in Riceville, IA Mavis married Dennis Miller on April 18, 1970 in Riceville, IA and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She worked for 32 years at the Le Sueur County Day Activity Center in Waterville and also worked as a home daycare provider. She was a member of St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny, served as President of the Rosary Society and was active in snowmobile and Volkswagen clubs. In addition, she is remembered as an avid shopper, traveler and enjoyed going to the casino.

Mavis is survived by her husband, Dennis of Waterville; two children, Tiffany (Bubba) Henninger of Elysian and Dan (Dawn) Miller of Mankato; grandchildren, Tanner Henninger, Brooklyn Henninger, Jesse Mackenthun, Carson Miller and Caden Miller; siblings, Mike ( Diana) Cummings, Marlys (Denny) Mayer, Pat (Mike) Fuller, Judy Carlson, Spike Cummings, Sharon (Gary ) Zoback, Steve Cummings, John (Lori) Cummings, Tom (Michelle) Cummings, Bob Cummings; Mother, Doris Cummings of McIntire, IA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter-Allison, her father-Tom, one brother-Kenny and her mother’s special friend-Cliff Wuertz.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 4-7 PM at the Waterville Chapel of Dennis Funeral and Cremation Services and continue one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 1:30 PM at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Kilkenny.
