Mary R. Hruska May 23, 1930 - February 4, 2015
Mary Rose (Malecha) Hruska, age 84, of Faribault, MN, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale, MN.
Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Arrangements are being completed with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault.
Mary Rose was born to John and Mary (Barta) Malecha on May 23rd 1930 in New Prague, MN. She was the oldest of 5 children.
Mary met the love of her life, Richard Theodore Hruska. On October 19, 1949 they were united in marriage at Immaculate Conception Church in Lonsdale. They began a life long career of farming in the Montgomery/Lonsdale area where they lived for many years while raising 13 children. In addition to farming and being a homemaker, Mary also worked as a cook at the Montgomery Senior Center. Mary was a member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Church.
Over the years Mary maintained a huge vegetable garden, which she shared with her children. She loved to embroider, crochet and feed the birds. She would share her homemade projects with her family. Mary and Richard enjoyed card club, square dancing with friends and attending all the area church festivals. They especially enjoyed having breakfast at Bernie''s Caf in Faribault.
She is survived by 10 daughters, Sharon Korbel, Sheila (Ron) Koon, Lorna (Don) Grimm, Mary (Jim) Aritt, Rena (Ron) Lehman, Ann McCabe (Kevin Buck), Alicia (Tim) Holicky, Dawn (Barrie) Peterson, Amy (Bob) Condon, and Paula Hruska, three sons, Richard
Hruska Jr., Randy (Maria) Hruska and John (Barbara) Hruska; 28 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Grace Kuchinka, Donnie Malecha, and Patricia Trcka; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents; one sibling in infancy; her brother, baler Ray Malecha; and two grandchildren, Stephanie and Marcus.
She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
