Mary Catherine Arndt

We celebrate the beautiful life of Mary Catherine Arndt who died on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at Colony Court in Waseca.
Mary Catherine was born on August 25, 1932, in Tracy, Minnesota to Martin and Elizabeth Ryan. She grew up in Litchfield, Minnesota, graduating high school in 1950. Mary studied nursing at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul and graduated with a R.N. degree in 1953.
She met the love of her life, Bob Arndt and they were married on June 11th, 1955 at St. Philips Catholic Church in Litchfield. They started their family soon after, having five children in six years.
Mary was a nurse at the Waseca Memorial Hospital for over 43 years, welcoming many newborns to this world. She enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren, and her many friends. She loved watching sports, especially football, baking and taking several walks each day.
She is survived by her children: Steve (and Melinda) Arndt of Fairfield, IA, Sue (and Darrel) Borglum of Waseca, Barb (and Dean) Schrandt of Mantorville, MN, Judy (and Steve) White of Blue Springs, MO, and Patty (and Mike) Kulla of New Richland; by nine grandchildren; five great granddaughters; one brother, John (and Ann) Ryan of Plymouth, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Bob.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 4, at Church of the Sacred Heart in Waseca with Fr. Marty Schaffer, celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
