Marna Bauer
MARNA LEE BAUER, age 83 of Waterville, died on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna.
Born in Erin Township, Rice County, Minnesota on February 14, 1936, Marna was the daughter of Alva and Evaline (Roemhildt) Jackson. She was baptized into the faith on April 5, 1936 in Kilkenny and was later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville on May 28, 1950. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1954 and later married Donald F. Bauer at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville on June 12, 1955. Throughout her working life Marna was employed at Brown Printing in Waseca, Haslip Flooring in Waterville, Waterville-Elysian High School, and Kamp Dels in Waterville. From 1980 until her retirement in 2010 she worked as church secretary at Trinity Lutheran in Waterville where she was also involved in the LWML and had volunteered her time on the church council as President and member-at-large. Marna enjoyed traveling in the motor home and taking trips up north. Their trip to see cousins in Alaska was a favorite memory, and she had taken many other trips with friends and family.
Marna is survived by five children, Linda (John) Lamont, Doug (Elaine Carr) Bauer, Lisa (Troy) Holling, and Darren (Lori) Bauer all of Waterville, and Dean (Cheryl) Bauer of Kasson; ten grandchildren, Crystal Lamont, Christopher (Megan) Lamont, Kelsey Bauer, Kayla (Dan) Perry, Kyle (Kay) Holling, Derek (Alex) Bauer, Danielle Bauer, Dawson Bauer, Nate Bauer, and Nic (Toni) Bauer; and five great-grandchildren, Ellie and Lane Lamont, Raylin Holling, Lucas Bauer, and Baby Perry. She is also survived by many cousins, siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, and the Harold and Bernita Spitzack family.
Visitation will be held from 4-8PM on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville, with Rev. David Mumme officiating. A private burial will be held at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville at a later date.
