Marian Hanek September 14, 1936 - December 29, 2008

Marian H. Hanek, age 72, of Faribault, died Monday, December 29, 2008 at District One Hospital in Faribault. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 to10:30 a.m. Marian Helen Hanek, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Marek) Hanek, was born on September 14, 1936 in Veseli, MN. She graduated from New Prague High School. Marian lived in Minneapolis for most of her life, working for over 20 years at Prudential Insurance. She had lived in Faribault for about 8 years. One of her interests was reading. She is survived by two siblings, Al (Florence) Hanek of Lonsdale and Irene (Leonard) Zvanovec of Montgomery; sister-in-law, Helen Hanek of Northfield; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Charles, George, Louis, Richard, and Edward Hanek; two nephews, Joe and Gene Hanek; and a grand nephew, Mike Hanek.
