Marian E. Boyd March 5, 1919 - July 24, 2013
Marian E. (Mrs. Clare) Boyd, age 94, of Faribault, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault with the Rev. Linda Miner, Chaplain, St. Croix Hospice, officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Calvary Episcopal Church Columbarium in Rochester, MN.
The family will greet relatives and friends for one hour prior to services at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory.
Marian Elizabeth, the daughter of Michael and Ellen (Enderson) Maloney was born on March 5, 1919 in Rochester, MN. She attended Rochester schools and graduated from Rochester High School with the class of 1936. She was united in marriage to Willard Wade and they resided in Rochester for many years. After their divorce, Marian married Clare Boyd and they lived in Virginia and Maryland for a few years before returning to Minnesota and settling in Faribault. Together they enjoyed traveling all over the United States and each fall they would return back to the east coast to enjoy the fall season there. Marian was a dedicated grandmother and was always there to help after a new grandchild was born. She also crocheted an afghan for each of them to keep as a keepsake. Marian enjoyed spending time with all of her family, but one of her favorite places to visit and spend time at was her son Billy''s home on Lake Pepin. Marian was also an avid bowler and also enjoyed a friendly game of cards, especially, gin rummy, cribbage and pinochle.
She is survived by her husband Clare Boyd of Faribault; by six children, Michael (Marilyn) Wade of Stanchfield, Judy (John) Walter of Byron, Linda Wade of Houston, TX, Teri Tesch-Wade of Rochester, Billy Wade of Lake City an Duane Joseph Boyd of Rosemount and by many grandchildren and many great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
