Margaret Kosfeld January 13, 1923 - July 24, 2012
Margaret A. Kosfeld, age 89, of Faribault and formerly Spring Valley, MN, died suddenly on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the District One Hospital in Faribault. Private family services will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault with the Rev. Craig Breimhorst, officiating. Interment will be held at the Spring Valley Cemetery in Spring Valley on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Rice County Humane Society in memory of Margaret. Margaret Adeline Patrick, the daughter of Raymond and Emma (Smith) Patrick, was born on January 13, 1923 in Ottumwa, Iowa. She attended Ottumwa High School and also continued her education in bookkeeping school. On April 10, 1953, Margaret was united in marriage to August Kosfeld in Worthington, MN. Together they owned and operated the Capitol Creamery in Worthington, Spring Valley Dairy and the Shady Rest Motel, both in Spring Valley. August later preceded her in death on January 4, 2005. In October 2007, Margaret moved to Pleasant View Estates in Faribault to be closer to family. Margaret enjoyed playing all types of games, especially cribbage and jigsaw puzzle books. She had a love for cats and also enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Linda (Jack) Olson of Fargo, ND, Gary Kosfeld of White Bear Lake, Gordy Kosfeld of Faribault and Laura Kosfeld of Spring Valley; her three grandchildren, Megan (Daniel) Collett, Karen Olson and Scott Olson; her three great grandchildren; her siblings, Don (Mary Jane) Patrick of Ottumwa, IA and Robert (Patty) Patrick of Royse City, TX; and by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Raymond "Bud" Patrick Jr and by her husband August.
