Lynn Sheril Mortensen

LYNN SHERIL MORTENSEN, age 64 of Waseca, died on the morning of Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at The Terrace of Cannon Falls.

Born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on August 13, 1957, Lynn was the daughter of Melvin and Lynor (Halvorson) Mortensen. She graduated from Pershing High School in Plummer, MN with the class of 1976. In the early 1980’s Lynn lived in Arizona before returning to Minnesota. Over the years she worked as a cook in several restaurants across multiple communities. She was an excellent cook, she loved playing guitar, caring for her cats, hanging out with her grandkids, and she enjoyed watching Harry Potter movies, Shrek movies, and the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy.

Lynn is survived by two children, Jessica Landry of Medford and Jeremy (Angela) Mortensen of Waseca; mother, Lynor Mortensen of Owatonna; three siblings, Zoe (Rick) Corneliusen of Salol, MN, April Daniel of Chandler, AZ, and Orrin (Lori) Mortensen of Faribault, MN; five grandchildren, Justin, Elizabeth, Bobby, McKenna, and Carson; and one very dear friend, Nancy Russell of Medford. She was preceded in death by her father; and one grandson, Jonathon Mortensen.

Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, February 4, 2022 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Real Life Covenant Church in Waseca, with Rev. Michael Behm officiating. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
