Lynda K. Neste

LYNDA K. NESTE, age 76 of Waseca died on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Foxdale in Waseca surrounded by her family.

Born on August 23, 1948 in Mankato, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Jacob and Donna (Meagher) Longeneker. Lynda graduated from Waldorf-Pemberton High School in 1966 and married Mark Neste on June 28, 1969. Lynda was a devoted mother and a compassionate caregiver whose kindness touched the lives of many. She dedicated her life to raising her two children, one of whom had special needs, with unwavering love and strength. Her nurturing spirit led her to continue her work at ICAN, where she provided care and support for others with disabilities Lynda also provided daycare in her home for several years. She loved music, Jazzercise, and staying active. More than anything, she loved being surrounded by people.

Lynda is survived by her husband, Mark and two children, Heather and Adam of Waseca; one grandson, Tyler Klose; siblings, Judy (Janis) Longeneker of Garrison, Jane (Kevin) Nett of Minneapolis, Louise Kantack of Mankato, and Mark (Denise) Longeneker of Waldorf; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Larry Longeneker; brother-in-law, Ed Kantack; nephew, Michael Warrick; and great-niece, Jaelynn Elvrum.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waldorf. Visitation will be held on Friday, one hour before services at the church. Private burial will take place at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
