LYLE ALAN WALDRON, age 76 of Waseca, died on the evening of Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Whispering Creek in Janesville.
Lyle was born in Waseca on February 6, 1949, to parents William and Marion (Wetzstein) Waldron. Lyle attended school in Waseca and while there he was a class officer, and participated in track, football, and basketball. He graduated from Waseca High School before continuing his education at Mankato State University where he played football. He also served his country in the United States Army before embarking on his fifty-year career as a Real Estate Appraiser licensed in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, and Washington D.C. Lyle was married to Carolyn Kahnke on October 4, 1969 in Waseca. Together the couple raised three children. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, he enjoyed playing golf, and was a past member of the Elk’s Lodge in Rockville, MD, where he held the office of Exalted Ruler.
Lyle is survived by three children, Erica (Mason) Wyknocker of Cleveland, OH, Christopher Waldron of Waseca, and Matthew Waldron of Silver Springs, MD; three siblings, Jerry (Nikki) Waldron of Rogers, Connie Rupp of Westbrook, and Carol (John) Norton of Monticello; and four grandchildren, Isabella and Andrew Wyknocker and Nicholas and Ellery Waldron. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife; and one sister, Diane “Ford” Waldron.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, with Father Glenn Frerichs officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral mass at the church. Following a luncheon, Lyle’s interment will take place at Sakatah Cemetery in Waterville. In lieu of floral tributes, please direct memorials to the national ALS Association or to a veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice.
