Lucille 'Lucy' Wesley
LUCILLE 'LUCY' WESLEY, age 90 of Elysian died on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Born on November 6, 1925 in Faribault, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Frank and Agnes (ONeil) Thommes. Lucy graduated from Bethlehem Academy in 1944 and worked as a legal secretary for John R. Coughlin in Faribault. She married Robert Wesley on June 12, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Together they farmed in Waseca County. In 1970, Lucy started working as a cook at the Elysian School where she was employed for 35 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, and bird watching, especially the blue birds. She also enjoyed time spent back at the lake, going for lunch with her ladies club, and was very proud of her Irish heritage. Lucy was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Elysian and the Rosary Society.
She is survived by four children, Deanna (Jon) Hagger of Le Sueur, Kevin (Linda) Wesley of Elysian, Nancy (Dennis) Ewert of Janesville, and Jeff (Pamela) Wesley of North Mankato; four grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan (Alyssa Christian), Laura and Molly Wesley; one great grandson, Luke Wesley; and her beloved rat terrier, Petey. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Will (Pat) Wesley of Waterville; and one sister-in-law, Clarice Wesley of Sartell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Lorraine Partridge; niece, Alison Wesley; and nephew, Blaine Wesley.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Elysian. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Andrews Building Fund.
