LUCILLE "LU" AGNES THOMAS, age 81, died at Traditions of Waterville on Monday, October 21, 2019.
Born in Chicago, IL on January 20, 1938, Lu was the daughter of Karl and Agnes (Benson) Eskildsen.  After attending high school she worked part-time at Western Electric.  She married Jason Thomas on March 5, 1956 in Chicago, where they lived and had a family of five children – one wonderful daughter and four snotty-nosed boys – Cindy, Bobby, Jimmy, Jerry, and Mikey.  The family moved from Cicero, IL to Elysian, MN in 1964.  She later divorced and raised her five children alone.  She did what she could which was waitress.  Working at Greenland Supper Club and the Corner Bar in Elysian.  Later she co-owned the King Melody II in Waseca and worked at the Boxcar Bar.  Most recently, Lu worked for Itron in Waseca.  She knew a lot of people in the area and she was very social and loved to visit.  Her hobbies included dart league and card playing.  In her quiet time she made many crocheted doilies while she watched TV.
Lu is survived by four children, Cindy Matz of Janesville, Bob (Kathy) Thomas of Tucson, AZ, Jerry (Nancy) Thomas of Lexington, KY, and Mike Thomas and his special friend Michelle Muellerleile of North Mankato; one brother, Richard (Linda) Eskildsen of Smyrna, TN; and one sister-in-law, Jeannette Eskildsen of Homer Glen, IL.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents; one son, James; one grandson, Jermiah; and three brothers, Ken, Galen, and Don. A memorial visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca.  Private family services will be held at a later time.
