Lou Ella Quast

Lou Ella Quast, age 86, of Mankato, formerly of Janesville, died Monday, October 7, 2019 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Funeral Service will be 2:30 PM on Sunday, October 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Interment will follow at Smiths Mill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until the time of the service all at the church on Sunday.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Janesville Area Foundation.
Lou Ella Quast was born on February 17, 1933, in Mankato to Selmer and Anna (Severson) Quam. She grew up on the family farm in Medo Township, Blue Earth County. Lou Ella was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth all at Medo Lutheran Church. She was a 1951 graduate from Pemberton High School. On August 30, 1953, Lou Ella was united in marriage to Billie Quast at Medo Lutheran Church. Together they lived on the Quast family farm in rural Janesville. In 1979, they moved to the Quam family farm near Pemberton where they continued to farm side by side until retiring in 2003 and moving to Janesville.
Lou Ella was a dedicated farm wife, working along side her husband for 50 years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, quilting, golfing and traveling. She especially looked forward to wintering in Texas every year. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville where she was active in Ladies Aid. Blessed be her memory.
Lou Ella is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Billie of Mankato; daughter, Janice (Ivan) Maas of Janesville; grandchildren: Julie (David) Olson of Janesville, William Maas of Mankato and Megan Maas of Roseville; great grandchildren: Evan and Maya Olson.
Preceded in death by her parents and cousin, Genevieve Anderson.
