Lorraine was the third of four daughters born to George and Annette Deitemeyer on October 10, 1924 and grew up on a farm near Henderson, MN. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1942. She married Steve Filek at Incarnation Church in Minneapolis on May 24, 1952. They lived in Minneapolis the first ten years of their marriage, and then moved to a small farm near New Market, MN, where they lived for 26 years.
Lorraine was a stay at home mom. She gardened, grew flowers, and was an expert seamstress. In 1988 she and Steve moved to Faribault. Steve preceded her in death in 1991. Lorraine was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharist Minister, a Sacristan, and an altar server at weekday masses and at funerals. She found great meaning in her faith. She was the first (and only) woman altar server ad she continued as long as her health allowed. While altar-serving at a funeral she met Victor Moravec. They were married June 27, 1997. They both loved to travel and took many trips together. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Lorraine found joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her three children, Jim (Wanette) Filek of Stevensville, MT, Kathy Davidson (Tim Krenik) of Montgomery, and Randy (Beth) Filek of Minneapolis, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her two husbands, Steve Filek and Victor Moravec, her parents, and three sisters, Eleanor Filek, Geri Tronsgard, and Alvira Lohman.
