Lorraine E. Tousignant September 12, 1922 - March 20, 2014

Lorraine E. Tousignant, age 91, of Faribault, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Faribault Care Center.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault at a later date.

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Monday for one hour prior to the services.

Lorraine Eleanor Bendorf was born on September 12, 1922 in Owatonna. She graduated from Owatonna High School with the class of 1940. Lorraine was united in marriage to James A. Tousignant on November 6, 1943 at the Immaculate Conception Parish House in Faribault. James preceded her in death on November 17, 1993. Lorraine first worked in a garment factory in downtown Faribault, then provided light house cleaning, sewing, and ironing for clients while her boys were young. She was a cook for many years, first with the Faribault School District at Washington and Lincoln elementary schools. After cooking at the schools, she worked in the deli at Nelsons Foods for over 20 years. Lorraine enjoyed bowling and often volunteered at her Immaculate Conception Church and the River Bend Nature Center in Faribault.

She is survived by her son, Mark Tousignant of Faribault; grandchildren, Ashley Tousignant and Jeffery Tousignant; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Tousignant; parents; son, Scott Tousignant on October 26, 2002; and her daughter-in-law, Darlene Tousignant on January 21, 2005.
