Lorna Larson
LORNA MARGARET LARSON, age 87 of Waseca died on Monday, April 9, 2018 at her home.
Born on October 21, 1930 in Waseca, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Grant and Freda (Haushahn) McColley. Lorna married Roger Larson on June 15, 1951 at her parents home in Waseca. Lorna worked as a teacher in area country schools and later worked at Birdseye Division of General Foods and Brown Printing in Waseca. She also provided childcare in her home for many years. Those families became extended family to Lorna and Roger. She was Grandma to all, with loving connections to the end of her life.
Lorna enjoyed knitting and crocheting, sewing, reading and spending time with her family. She was a long-time member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church where she had been active in the church. She had also been active with 4-H, especially the dog program.
Lorna is survived by her husband, Roger of Waseca; children, Scott Larson of Waseca, Lorri Larson (Jerry Bruce) of Blue Earth, Sheri (Don) Koski of Bellevue, NE, Marie (Norm) Mehls of Bigelow, and Kerri (Todd) Kennedy of Waseca; grandchildren, Leanna (Ray) Hyatt, Emily (Ankit) Deshar, Alecia Koski, Bailey Koski, Cody Livingston, Dylan Livingston, Alysha Kennedy, and Nick Kennedy; and great grandchildren, Presley Deshar and Miles Hyatt. Lorna is also survived by siblings, Duane (Barb) McColley of Owatonna, Judy (Jim) Harlicker of Owatonna, and Cliff (Linda) McColley of Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Ashley Ellison-Kennedy; daughter-in-law, Tina Larson; and brothers, Harry, Dale, Marlin, Lyle, Lenard, and David McColley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Cary Larson officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
