LOIS ELAINE WOOD, age 90 of Waseca died on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Born on April 30, 1928 in Waseca, Minnesota, she was the daughter of John and Lydia (Grunwald) Papke.  She was baptized on May 20, 1928 at Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton by Rev. E.F. Wachholz and later confirmed on June 14, 1942 at Trinity by Rev. Wachholz.  Lois attended school in rural Waseca County.  She helped on her familys farm and later worked at the Fairmont Canning Company.  She was united in marriage to Orlando Wood on August 20, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton.  Lois worked diligently as a mother, homemaker and a dairy farmers wife.  She enjoyed her horses, baking and working in her yard.  Lois was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton where she was active with the LWML and held several offices.  She had also been a member of the Wilton River Riders Saddle Club.
Lois is survived by three children, Eugene (Janet) Wood, Richard (Eileen) Wood, and Merrilee (Art) Byron all of Waseca; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.  She is also survived by sisters, Janis Draheim of Buckeye, AZ and Mavis Wedner of Waseca; sister-in-law, Frances Muedeking of Waseca; and brother-in-law, Emery Weber of Waseca.   She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 1, 1989; sisters-in-law, Marian (Roy) Clayton, Edith Wood, Dode (Arvin) Spies, and Grace Weber; and brothers-in-law, Lyle (Peggy) Wood, William Draheim, and Jim Wedner. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton.  Visitation will be held on Monday, one hour before services at the church.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
