LOIS ANN COY, age 85, of Waseca, died on Tuesday evening, March 31, 2020, at her home.
Born on November 8, 1934, to Charles and Bessie (Griffin) Groll in Pemberton. She attended Pemberton Public School. Lois was united in marriage to Burton Wayne Coy in Pemberton on June 27, 1951. She worked at various places throughout her life which included Birdseye and Herters in Waseca, and Schulls Flower Shop in Wells and Eisens Meat Market in Waldorf. She also had her store "The Corner Closet" in Pemberton. Lois loved collecting sea shells, going to flea markets, traveling, playing baseball in her younger years, going to and having garage sales, cooking and riding in her convertible. She was an avid reader of the newspaper and watched the news every morning followed by Dr. Phil. Lois was known to pull practical jokes on her sisters often. She enjoyed playing the organ. She was a member of Zoar United Church of Christ in Waldorf. Lois enjoyed volunteering at MRCI and at Farm America. Her family fondly recalls her famous words of advice, “Ya", and "All you got to do is…”. She will be dearly missed.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of nearly 70 years, Burton of Waseca; sons: Bradley (Valasta) of Lake Wales, FL, Scott (Cindy) of Waseca, Kevin of Hughesville, MD, Keith of Pemberton, and Tracy (Bess) of Waldorf; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; siblings: Melva (Ronald) Schull of Pharr, TX, Audrey Meyer of Waseca, Sharon Burnette of Hutchinson, Lorraine (Murt) Bull of Pharr, TX, and Jimmy Groll of Waseca.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry Groll.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
