Lois Kathryn Anderson

LOIS KATHRYN ANDERSON, age 100 of Waseca, died at her Colony Court Home on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Lois was born in New Richland on February 22, 1924 to parents Helmer and Jessica (Hunt) Anderson. She attended country schools near Otisco before graduating from Waseca Central High School. She was married to Leonard Anderson on October 17, 1944 at Vista Lutheran Church in Waseca County. Following their wedding, Lois and Leonard lived with his mother, brother, and sister for about a year while working on the family farm. They went on to own and operate a grocery store in Otisco from 1945 until it burned in 1950. Later, Lois worked at Minske & Walberg Grocers in Waseca, and the E.F. Johnson Company in Waseca. Leonard passed away in 1994, but Lois continued to spend her winters in Coolidge, AZ, and her summers at their cabin on French Lake. Lois was a past member of the Eagles Club in Waseca and the Coolidge, AZ American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Lois is survived by three children, Bert (Karen) Anderson of Waseca, Cathy Good of New Prague, and Judy Fausch of Fairmont; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband; six siblings and their spouses; two sons-in-law, Robert Good and Donald Fausch; and two nephews, Paul Wynnemer and Lee Timmerman. 

The Anderson family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Colony Court in Waseca, as well as the staff of Allina Hospice for the loving care they offered to Lois.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca, with Rev. Kristen Venne officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Vista Lutheran Cemetery near Otisco.
