MABEL E. LITTLE
, age 93 of Waterville died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.
Born on May 20, 1920 in Mankato, Minnesota she was the only child of John and Pauline (Werth) Rosenau. Mabel graduated from Waterville High School in 1938. She married Lowell Little on March 8, 1945 in Waterville. She grew up and lived on the farm all her life. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women.
Mabel will always be remembered for her smile and being kind and helpful to many people. She loved wild flowers, gardening, reading, going on walks, sewing, canning, baking, cooking, picking black raspberries, popping popcorn, watching soap operas, eating her chocolate, bird watching, playing Bingo, Scrabble and cards, and music. She and Lowell enjoyed fishing and traveling over the years. Their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were their pride and joy. Mabel was very devout to her faith and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by four children, John (Linda) Little of Medford, Gloria (Dan) Wesley of Waterville, Kathy (Mike) Remiger of Waterville, and Sharon Little and friend Dave Kaun of Baraboo, WI; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lowell in 2000, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 3-6 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elysian with Rev. Michael Ince and Deacon Dan Wesley officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterville.
