LISA JEAN HAYES, age 59, of Waseca passed away the morning of Saturday, March 8, 2025 in her home surrounded by family.
Born on March 24, 1965 in Waseca, Lisa was the daughter of James and Dianne (Bauman) Bartelt. She graduated from Waseca High School with the class of 1983. Lisa married James Hayes on January 23, 1998, at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca. Together, they shared a life filled with love and memories.
Over the years, Lisa worked at Colony Court, Fast Development, and O'Farleys, until her health prevented her from continuing. She was known for her passion for family and enjoyed activities such as going on walks, fishing, tanning, playing volleyball, cleaning, and cooking. Lisa was especially fond of hosting Super Bowl parties, where she would gather with friends and family. She was proud to expand the footprint of the Waseca Sportsman Club as the self-proclaimed head grounds keeper for the last seven years.
Lisa is survived by her husband, James of Waseca; children, Mackinzee (MaKara) Hayes, Aaliyah Hayes, Ashton Hayes all of Waseca, Katie Johnson, Kristi Johnson; step-daughter, Amanda (Ross) Taylor of Aberdeen, SD; granddaughter, Angelyn; step-grandchildren, Baylin, Kayson; siblings, Dennis (Carol) Bartelt, Doug (Julie) Bartelt, Cindy Bartelt, Becky (Matt Harguth) Sommers; brother-in-law, Lyle Vaughan; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; sister, Pamela Vaughan; and special uncle, Gene.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Grace Gardens.
A visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca.
