LeRoy “Pete” Wolff, was born on November 22, 1932 in rural Madison Lake to Clarence and Kathleen (Smith) Wolff. He attended school in Janesville and graduated in 1952 and then enlisted in the service following high school and was honorably discharged two years later. Pete married the love of his life, Mary Jean Phillips, on September 3, 1955 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair, MN and they were blessed with six children.
Pete was in Law Enforcement in Blue Earth County over 25 years and farmed in rural Madison Lake. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and faithful supporter of his children’s and grandchildren’s events. He was a member of Post #311 of Elysian.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary of Madison Lake; children: Vicki (Louie) Ziemke of Janesville, Mike (Terri) Wolff of Eagle Lake, Greg (Dorothy) Wolff of Madison Lake, Nancy (Russ) Domonoske of Elysian, Laurie (Scott) Ayers of Waterville, and Tammy (Dave) Nusbaum of Waterville; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers Bob and Wally; sisters, Maureen and Sheila; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pete passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 14, at age 87, surrounded by loved ones. A private Mass to celebrate his life will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (Marysburg) in rural Madison Lake, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Legion Post #311 of Elysian, MN or the Janesville Foundation.
