Leonard "Lenny" Erdman, age 87, of Janesville died on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Pastor Larry Griffin and Pastor Paul Muther officiating. Interment will be held at St. John''s Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #281.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Arnoldt- McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Leonard Emil, son of Emil and Anna (Berndt) Erdman, was born on April 23, 1928 in Mankato, Minnesota. He attended and graduated from Janesville High School in 1946. Following his schooling, he started his lifelong career farming. In 1950, he was drafted into the United States Army and served our country until 1952. He was a member and former post commander of the American Legion Post #281. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, holding many different church offices, and was a member of the church choir for over 70 years. He enjoyed bowling, going to casinos, and watching sports.

Lenny is survived by his brothers, Harlan (Ardis) Erdman of Janesville and Eldon (Ruth) Stavenau of Elysian; many nieces and nephews; and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Orville Erdman in 1947; sister, Dorothy Witt; and by his aunt and uncle, Edward and Fern Berndt, who served as his foster parents.
