Leon Edward Ritchie

LEON EDWARD RITCHIE, age 78 of Waseca, died Monday, December 30, 2024, at his home.

He was born on January 18, 1946, in Faribault. He was the son of Edward Lee and Dorothy Ellen (Fritz) Ritchie. He graduated from Waseca Public Schools – Class of 1964. Leon served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he began working for Honeywell Corporation in Minneapolis, in maintenance and electronics technology where he worked for 35 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waseca.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Chris) McGuiggan; five grandchildren, William, Lydia, Hope, Patrick, Gabby; siblings, Dorothy “Patsy” Olson, Eddy Ritchie, Kathy Ritchie, Randy Ritchie, and Patrick Ritchie. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joyce, Cassie, Pamela, and Riley.

Private family interment will be held at the Woodville Cemetery in Waseca at a later date.
