Lee Ann Baumgarten

LEE ANN BAUMGARTEN, age 83, of Morristown, died, Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Traditions of Waterville.

Born, November 16, 1940, in Waterville, a daughter of the late Leo and Mayone (Weaver) Anderson. On February 14, 1960, she was united in marriage to Bruce Baumgarten at Blooming Grove Church in Morristown. Lee enjoyed reading, playing her organ, scrabble, crossword puzzles, bowling, gardening, painting plastic plaster figurines, having coffee with her mom and family, and spending time with her grandchildren who were the light of her world. She worked for WEM School District as the Community Ed Director for 20+ years. During this time, she helped in expanding the early childhood development program, and the Prairie Fire Children’s Theater. She was a pioneer in community education for Morristown and WEM and was always volunteering for ways to help with anything that was needed. She was a member of the Morristown Commercial Club, and the Dollars for Scholars Network.

Lee is survived by her husband, Bruce of Morristown; her children, Jason Baumgarten of Kilkenny, and Mindy (Corey) Neid of Waseca; three grandchildren, Jenessa and McKayla Baumgarten of Kilkenny, and Brecken Neid of Waseca; siblings, Jim (Louise) Anderson of Faribault, Joy (Ray) Delesha of Waterville, Steve Anderson of Waterville, George Anderson of Iowa; sister-in-law, Kendra Mitchell, brother-in-law, Sam Mumper, and several nieces, nephews, and extended relatives. She was preceded in death by, her infant grandson, Brandon David Baumgarten, brother, John Anderson, sisters, Judy Reuvers and Patsy Mumper, and sister-in-law, Kathy Ohtto.
