SHARON ELAINE LARSON , age 71 of Waseca, died at her home on Friday, January 24, 2014.

Born in Kasson, Minnesota on May 5, 1942, Sharon was the daughter of Burton and Melvina (Jorgenson) Fjerstad.  She graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School.  Sharon married Tink Larson in Mason City, Iowa.  She owned and operated a daycare for 34 years before retiring in 2001.  Sharon was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca where she taught Sunday School.  She enjoyed playing bridge, visiting at McDonald’s with her friends, watching high school sports, working the concession stand at the baseball field, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and family.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Tink Larson of Waseca, one daughter, Jodi (Don) Chesney of Waseca; two sons, Michael (Brenda) Larson of Waseca, and Paul (special friend Emily Huhta) Larson of Esko;  six grandchildren, Clint, Tara and Morgan Larson, James and Jennifer Sperle and Jordan Johnson; and one great grandchild, Wyatt Sperle;  four sisters, Ardis Grovdahl of Kasson, Donna (Denny) Head of Kasson, Eileen (Michael) O’Connor of Brownsdale, and Lavonne (Michael) Berge of Kasson; one brother, Burton (Enner) Fjerstad, Jr., of Kasson;.  She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Lisa, and one brother-in-law, Herb Grovdahl.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.Â
