Ladonna M. Wenthold

LaDONNA M. WENTHOLD, age 85, died on April 10, 2020 in Rancho Mirage, California.

Born on October 31, 1934 in Freeborn County, she was the daughter of Marvin and Florence Kalis. She graduated from Waldorf High School and went to work at the Wells Memorial Hospital for several years. She married Clarence Wenthold in 1956 and they farmed in the Waseca area for numerous years while she also worked at Janesville Nursing Home and raised five children. Clarence passed away in 1982, and she remained farming and working in Waseca. She met Bob Simonsen in 1987, retired and they relocated to Phoenix, AZ. Bob passed away in 1995 and she remained in Phoenix until 2001 when she relocated to Cathedral City, CA where she lived until 2019, when health-related concerns caused her to relocate to an Assisted Living Facility in Rancho Mirage, CA.

LaDonna is survived by five children, Randy (and wife Tami) Wenthold of Menahga, MN, Rick (and wife Sheree) Wenthold of North Platte, NE, Pam (and Husband Bruce) Janike of Waseca, MN, Jackie (and Husband Jim) Greeney of Waseca, MN and Rob Wenthold (and Partner Scott Tobin) of Rancho Mirage, CA. She will also be remembered by five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.


Private family memorial services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, with Fr. The Hoang officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
