Kenneth Keller December 1, 1931 - July 22, 2008
Kenneth A. Keller, age 76, of Faribault, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church at Sacred Heart in Faribault. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to services at the church. Kenneth Anthony Keller, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Rossett) Keller, was born on December 1, 1931 in Faribault, MN. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1949. On August 4, 1951 he was united in marriage to Patricia Fulton at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. They were later divorced. Ken served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1953. After his service time, Ken first worked as a carpenter and then began a 45 year career as a brick layer. Ken worked for various contractors and independents throughout his career. In his spare time Ken enjoyed wood working and always made personalized gifts for his family. He also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and he was a fan of the Minnesota Twins. Ken was a member of the American Legion Post 43 in Faribault. He is survived by 10 children, Kevin Keller of Zumbrota, MN, Pam Kreager (Gary Janssen) of Montgomery, MN, Doreen (Bruce) Sanborn of Faribault, MN, Lori Johnson (Jim Schwartz) of Faribault, MN, Linda (Darrel) Schultz of Montgomery, MN, Scott (Jennifer) Keller of Arvada, CO, Shelly (Erik) Johnson of Northfield, MN, Tom (Denise) Keller of Northboro, MA, Kim (Rick) Pirkl of Hampton, MN, and Shari (Van) Bulow of Faribault; by the mother of their children, Patricia Keller of Faribault; by 31 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; by three sisters, Eva Marie (Larry) Hanson of St. Paul, MN, Lorraine Mullenmeister of Faribault, and Donna Bjorklund of Faribault; by a "special friend" Phyllis Helgeson of Faribault, MN; and by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law Roger Mullenmeister and Robert Bjorklund.
