Keith Wiste April 9, 1972 - September 17, 2011
Keith Michael Wiste, age 39 of Mankato, died at his home on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin, officiating. Interment will be in the Janesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Wednesday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Keith was born on April 9th, 1972 to Ron and Barbara (Hodapp) Wiste. He grew up in Janesville, MN and attended Janesville public schools, graduating from the newly formed Janesville-Waldorf - Pemberton High School in 1990. He went on to college at Southwest State University, graduating with honors in 1995. He then completed his Master''s degree in Sports Management at Mankato State University. Keith worked various jobs until starting his successful business, Wiste''s Continuous Concrete Edging. He was passionate about sports and coached girls'' and boys'' basketball at area schools, was an umpire for softball, and refereed basketball. He spent much of his free time working with youngsters that wanted to play basketball through Saturday recreation programs and summer camps. Keith also was an avid fan of the Twins, Vikings, Gophers, Mavericks and many other college and high school teams. Keith was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville and was still a member of the church. Keith is survived by his parents, Ron and Peggy Wiste of Mankato, his best friend and brother Rob (Sandra) Wiste of North Mankato, brother Paul Nelson of Waseca, and sister Catherine Nelson of Minneapolis; by his maternal grandmother Alice Hodapp, and special nieces, Carly and Holly Wiste, and nephews, Corey Nelson, and Nick Etherington. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Keith was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Meland, grandparents, Robert and Ruth Wiste, Edmund Hodapp, and Louise and Arthur Bishop.
