Kathryn 'Kay' Heiskari August 25, 1944 - February 22, 2014

Kathryn D. "Kay" Heiskari, age 69, of Faribault and previously of Cold Spring, MN, died on Saturday, February 22, 2014.

Born August 25, 1944, in Faribault, MN, to Melvin and Edna (Saffert) Schreyer, Kay was the youngest of three children.

Kay grew up in Faribault, raised a family in Cold Spring, MN, and retired from St. John''s University bookstore. She enjoyed volunteer work with the Retired Eagles, the Clothes Closet, and Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Kay knitted over fifty prayer shawls, baptismal blankets, and also knitted for the IRIS program. She loved to spend the winters in Florida with palm trees, warm sun, and the ocean.

Kay is survived by her husband Ken, daughter Jennifer Goodman (John), and daughter-in- law, Mona Puch (Craig). Three grandchildren were the light of her life: Brenna Heiskari, and Abbey and Frank Goodman. Kay is also survived by her brother, Don Schreyer (Geri) and sister Marlene Turner (Larry).

She was preceded in death by her parents and son,Todd.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan, officiating. Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to services.
