Kathleen M. Hanson, age 72 of Faribault, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to services.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Faribault Area Hospice in memory of Kathleen.
Kathleen Mary Froman, the daughter of Carroll and Genevieve (LeMieux) Froman, was born on April 12, 1940 in Faribault, MN. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1958. On August 19, 1961 she was united in marriage to Harlan Hanson at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. After their marriage, Kathy and Harlan lived in La Crescent, MN. Kathy stayed at home to raise their family and also drove school bus for 22 years. In 1999 they moved back to Faribault and Kathy continued her school bus driving for 12 years. Kathy enjoyed spending time with all of her family and especially loved playing games with her grandchildren. She was a Befriender for Divine Mercy Catholic Church and also enjoyed quilting and crocheting prayer shawls.
She is survived by her husband Harlan of Faribault; by four children, Randy (Sandy) Hanson of Redwood Falls, MN, Debra Hanson of Faribault, Ronald Hanson of Faribault and Todd Hanson and Marcia Nichols of Kasson, MN; by ten grandchildren; by six sisters, Margaret (Daniel) Montag of Iowa, Patricia Burmeister of Faribault, Caroline (Jeffrey) Gelhar of Brooklyn Center, MN, Eva (Michael) Gramse of Faribault, Pauline (David) Thielbar of Madison, SD and Bernadette (Dennis) Tatge of Faribault; by two brothers, Paul
(Colleen) Froman and Ben (Marie) Froman, both of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Genevieve Froman and by two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Brazil and Stan Burmeister.
