KATHERYN “KATIE” MARIE WEBER, age 74 of Waseca, died peacefully on the morning of Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Katie was born in Albert Lea on September 26, 1948 to parents Leon and Ann (Neighlander) Broadwell. She graduated from high school in Albert Lea before attending Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter where she studied nursing. On April 11, 1970 Katie married Marshall L. Weber in Albert Lea. She made many lasting friends while she worked as a church secretary for Waseca Christian Assembly, and also worked part-time for the Yellow Mushroom where she catered to the E.F. Johnson Company and Brown Printing. Over the years she enjoyed attending many church congregations. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, was a voracious reader, and liked cats, painting, drawing, and her bread recipe collection. She supported many charities. Those who knew Katie understood that she had struggles to overcome related to her health and disability, but she always remained confident and exhibited an innate willingness to see the positive all throughout her life. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
Katie is survived by two sons, Robert Weber of Waseca, and Nathan (Erica Forsythe) Weber of Waseca; two grandchildren, Sophiel Bea Weber and Archer Paul Weber of Waseca; and one sister of Houston, MN. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; and her husband in 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at First Congregational Church in Waseca with Rev. Ken Andrs officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church on Friday. A private family interment will take place at Woodville Cemetery in the summer of 2023.
