EDGAR P. KANTACK , age 74 of Waldorf died on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at his home in Waldorf.
Born on May 19, 1938 in Winnebago, Minnesota, he was the son of Ben and Vera (Coale) Kantack. Ed graduated from Mapleton High School. He married Louise Longeneker on April 25, 1975 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Ed was employed at Kato Engineering in Mankato for many years and also as a salesman for Cen-Pe-Co. He later operated his own business, Midwest Coating for several years. In recent years Ed worked as a gunsmith. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, fixing and making things and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Louise of Waldorf; four children, Bryan (Jayne) Kantack of Mapleton, Kim (Dana) Krengel of Good Thunder, Jessica (Andy) Hislop of Lakeville, and Ben (Kelly) Kantack of Shoreview; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Arlis Wallace of Waterville; one brother, Howard (Sandy) Kantack of Bemidji; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ilo Rafferty.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waldorf with Rev. Peter Klein officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 PM until the time of services at the church.ÂVisits: 2
