Elgin W. Kaderlik

ELGIN WILLIAM KADERLIK , age 81 of Elysian died on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Central Health Care in Le Center.

Born on April 27, 1932 in Rice County, Minnesota, he was the son of William and Mary (Voracek) Kaderlik.  He married MaryLou Cervenka on June 21, 1955 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.  He was an active member of the Army Reserves for 17 years.  Elgin worked in the auto industry his entire career, retiring from Heintz Pontiac Cadillac in Mankato after 30 years.  Elgin and MaryLou later owned and operated Kaderlik Bait & Tackle in Madison Lake for over 20 years.  In his retirement, he worked part-time for the Mankato Civic Center, Hilltop Terrace in Waterville and for Wynn and Elizabeth Kearney in Mankato.  He was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elysian.

Elgin enjoyed spending time with family activities including hunting, fishing and trapping.  He was a member and active with many organizations including, Nicollet Conservation Club, MN Bait Dealer Assoc., Muskies Inc., Madison Lake Sportsman Club, Pheasants Forever, and Ducks Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife, MaryLou of Elysian; four children, Regina (Jeff) Daemke of Colorado Springs, CO, Diane (Bruce) Frederick of Paradise Valley, AZ, Michael (Glorie) Kaderlik of Madison Lake, and Patrick Kaderlik of Cleveland; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.  He is also survived by two brothers, Alvin (Gladys) Kaderlik of Montgomery and Myles (Donna) Kaderlik of Prior Lake.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elysian on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 4-7 PM and continue on Friday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elysian with Rev. Michael Ince officiating.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
