Joseph C. Weber, age 94, of Deerfield Township, Steele County, died on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church in Medford, with the Rev. Joseph Pete officiating. Interment will be held at the Resurrection Cemetery, Medford. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services. Parish prayers will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Joseph C. Weber, the son of Peter and Anna (Stadler) Weber, was born on January 23, 1914 in Medford, MN. He attended Medford High School and graduated with the class of 1932. On September 28, 1937 he was united in marriage to Lucille Walter. Mrs. Weber preceded him in death on November 21, 1999. Joe farmed for over 40 years in Deerfield Township, Steele County. While farming he also worked as a heavy equipment operator doing road construction for Underdahl Construction. Joe was a member of the Medford Knights of Columbus and the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Deerfield Township. Joe was an avid fisherman, enjoyed animals, nature and all sports. He also enjoyed spending time with all of his family. He is survived by two children, Marge Wadekamper of Faribault, MN and Robert (Bernadette) Weber of Owatonna, MN; by 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his great granddaughter, Genevieve Jones, his son-in-law, Rudy Wadekamper, by two brothers, Jacob (Frances) Weber and Nicholas (Odessa) Weber, and by six sisters, Alma (Fred) Morrissey, Elizabeth (Aloyius) Simmons, Mary (Art) Voegele, Margaret (James) Johnson, Loretta Weber and Eleanor (Francis) Varley.
