John Murphy October 14, 1976 - April 29, 2010

John "JJ" Murphy, age 33, of Owatonna, died suddenly on April 29, 2010 at the Northfield Hospital. Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of JJ and can be made payable to the John J. Murphy trust fund at Wells Fargo Bank in Owatonna. (1400 South Oak Ave., Owatonna, MN 55060) John Joseph Murphy, the son of John and Patty (Kosanda) Murphy, was born on October 14, 1976 in Tucker, Georgia. He was raised in Shieldsville, MN and graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale High School. He then graduated from South Central Technical College in 1997 in Marine Outboard Technology. He had worked at Met-Con Construction Co. for the last eight years. JJ married Kim Herme on September 7, 2002 in Janesville, MN and they had one daughter, Madi Jo. His family meant everything to him. He enjoyed fishing, being on the lake, and playing playstation. JJ was the life of the party. He is survived by his wife, Kim and daughter, Madi Jo of Owatonna; parents, John and Patty Murphy of Shieldsville; brother, Andy (Jenny) Murphy of Faribault; sister, Brandy (Ed) Costa of Faribault; maternal grandmother, Marian Kosanda of Shieldsville; father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Barb Herme of Janesville; brother-in-law, Nate (Keri) Herme of Janesville; Kim''s grandmother, Ordella Yess of Waseca; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Clarence Kosanda.
