John L. "Jack" Jones, age 71 of Waseca, died on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at his home. Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Pastor Debra J. Collum, Officiate. The Jones Family will greet friends on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Friday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. John Lloyd was born on September 9, 1939 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota to Lloyd and Esther (Gray) Jones. He graduated from Cosmos High School in 1957. Jack entered military service in the United States Navy on July 16, 1959. On October 20, 1961 he was united in marriage to Janet LaRue Squibb in Winter Haven, CA. He was honorably discharged from active duty on July 15, 1963. Jack and Janet lived most of their married life in Southern, Minnesota. They lived for a time in Willow Creek, Montana. In 1981 they moved to Waseca where Jack owned and operated Jones Freight Service. Jack was a member of the Wilton River Saddle Club, and was very active in Waseca''s Sleigh and Cutter Parade. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife Janet of Waseca; by his three children John (Jennifer) Jones of Waseca and their children JoriLynn and CaiLea; Jennifer (David) Sachs of Waseca and their children Amanda (Matthew) Woodham, Levi and Jake Sachs; Jeffrey Jones of Waseca and his children Matthew, Riley, and Madalyne; by his great grandchildren Hunter and Jackson Woodham; by his siblings, Janice (Dale) Pietig of Nisswa, Doug (Lela) Jones of Waseca, Randy (Linda) Jones of Platteville, CO; by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy (Jerry) Greenslit of Willmar, Barbara (Gary) Gustavson of Minnetonka, John (Janice) Squibb of Hector, Pam (Mike) Lewis of Queen Creek, AZ, Glenda (Gary) Proell of St. Cloud, and Becky (Gary) Hauer of Queen Creek, AZ; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his daughter Jodie Louise in 1975; by his father-in- law and mother-in-law John and Martha Squibb; by his brother-in-law Robert Squibb.
