Johanna M. Finstuen February 10, 1916 - October 24, 2014

Johanna M. Finstuen, age 98, of Faribault, MN, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014, at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.

At her request, no funeral services will be held. Burial will be at the Kenyon Cemetery in Kenyon, MN.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Johanna Margrethe was born on February 10, 1916 near Overalla, Norway to Ole Eliassen and Anne Johanna (Matiasdtr) Katmo. She was raised in Norway and later immigrated to the United States and resided in Rochester, MN. Johanna was united in marriage to Avery S. Finstuen on May 7, 1950 in Goodhue County. Avery was an attorney in Kenyon and preceded her in death in 1955. Johanna has lived in Faribault since 1957. She had a lengthy nursing career and worked for the State of Minnesota until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Faribault. Johanna was an avid reader and bird watcher, and enjoyed traveling, gardening, and walks in the woods.

She is survived by her nephew and niece, Jan Otto Solem and Rigmor Solem.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.
