Joan Miller April 6, 1934 - April 23, 2010
Joan H. (O''Brien) Miller, age 76, of Waseca, died on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Lakeshore Inn, Waseca. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 26th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Terry Quick officiating. Interment will be in the St. John''s Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery in St. Clair. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Monday morning for one hour prior to services, at church. Memorials preferred to the Haitian Relief Fund of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Joan Helen was born on April 6, 1934 in St. Clair, Minnesota to Delmar and Edna (Koch) O''Brien. She was a graduate of St. Clair High School. Joan was united in marriage to Lowell J. Fossom in 1952 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair. Joan and Lowell resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and later Sioux City, Iowa. They later divorced. Joan had long career as a billing clerk for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad Company. In 1984 Joan married John Miller, and they resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and later Elgin, IL. She retired in 1987 from the railroad, and moved to Waseca. Joan was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed decorating her home. Joan loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her sons John (Pam) Fossum of Ely, Jeffry Fossum of Stillwater,Joel (Jean) Fossum of Princeton, IL, and by his daughter Jody (Dan) Keyes; by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; by her siblings Delma Schmahl of Madison Lake, Donna Frenzel of Chicago, and David (Gerri) O''Brien of Congress, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and her grandparents.
