Jerry Froehlich June 10, 1942 - July 20, 2014
Jerry Froehlich, age 72, of Janesville, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, with Reverend Dr. Larry Griffin and Pastor Paul Muther officiating. Interment will be held at the St. John''s Lutheran Cemetery in St. Clair.
Visitation will be held at the Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday morning.
Jerry Donald, the son of Donald and Lempi (Niemela) Froehlich, was born on June 10, 1942 in Mankato. He attended St. Clair High School and graduated with the class of 1960. Following high school, Jerry enlisted in the United States Army and later received an honorable discharge. He then returned home and on April 25, 1964, he was united in marriage to Beverly Linde at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. Jerry began working for Brayton Chemical in Janesville before starting Froehlich Sandblasting and Painting in 1985. He currently enjoyed running his business along with selling seed for Gold Country, Wensman, and NC+ seed companies.
Outside of working, Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing, and the stories that go with them. Jerry loved restoring and collecting antique tractors and being involved with Pioneer Power. He also loved to watch stock car races, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beverly of Janesville; his children, Julie (Jim) Hammett of Janesville, Cindy (Mark) Krienke of Waterville, Becky (Marc) Hagen of Janesville, and Jared (Holly) Froehlich of Sheldon, ND; his grandchildren, Adam (Cali) Hammett, Melissa (Luke) Oachs, Kyle (fianc Angie) Krienke, Justin (fianc Alexis) Krienke, Zach Hagen, Gabbie Hagen, and MaKayla, McKenize, and Jaycob Froehlich; his twin great-granddaughters, Ally and Avery Hammett; his siblings, Marce (Jim) Collmann
and Maurice (Stephanie) Froehlich, both of St. Clair; his sisters-in-law, Delores (Stanley)Wilmes of St. Clair, Barb Fischer of Waldorf, Karen Linde of Janesville, and Pat Linde of St. Clair; his aunts, Muriel Mace of Mankato and Louise Kapela of Cokato; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jason "Jake" Froehlich on December 5, 1990; his mother and father-in-law, Rudy and Clara Linde; his brothers-in-law, Carl Fischer and Eugene Linde; and by his sister-in-law, Frances Froehlich.
