Jeffrey W. Lau, age 55 of Janesville, died on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Nancy Hansen, officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Saturday morning for one hour prior to service, at church. Jeffrey Willard was born on April 13, 1955 in Waseca, Minnesota to Wilfred and Charlotte (Olson) Lau. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1973. Jeff was united in marriage to Cindy L. Holler on June 12, 1976 at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. Jeff and Cindy have raised their family and resided their entire married life in Janesville. Early in his career Jeff worked as a home builder and mason. He then worked 10 years with Harvest States in Janesville. For the last 10 years he has been employed with Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. Jeff was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Janesville, Sons of American Legion Post #281 in Janesville, and the Smiths Mill- Janesville Sportsman''s Club. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, ice fishing, and deer hunting. He volunteered his time with Boy Scouts, and various American Legion/Veteran''s causes and activities. He loved time spent with his family and friends, and when the light was on in his garage you were always welcome! Jeff is survived by his wife Cindy of Janesville; by his children Dick Lau of Owatonna and Hilary (Jason) Cowdin of Mankato; by his grandchildren Madeline, Amelia, and Isaac; by his mother Charlotte (Willard) Anderegg of Janesville; by his siblings Jerry (Carrie) Lau of Edina, Jim Lau of Virginia, Debra Hanson of Waseca, Dawn Santucci of Raleigh, NC, and Marjory (Mike) Gilsrud of Eagle Lake; by his brother-in-law Bob (Cassie) Holler of Champlin; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father Wilfred in 1985; by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Gene and Martha Holler, and his brother-in-law Bill Holler.
